THE OLD GUY OR OBAMA
Description: Created in 2008, this piece was wood fired and sat right in the firebox during the firing. I glazed him with ash green and yellow ochre, but he has lots and lots of ash build up from his kiln placement. This is a rustic jug with a rough texture; he has a unibrown, small eyes, and five teeth. He stuck to the kiln, so he has kiln scars on his bottom which are not noticable unless you turn him over, but he's a solid, stable pot.

PEACE LOVE FAITH
Description: A small face jug, but typical of Jim McDowell's style. This jug was fired unglazed in a gas kiln with salt. The effects of the gas and salt produced a rich caramel color with luminosity. The potter emphasized his throwing lines and gave this face wide eyes and mouth.
